A simple tutorial describing the differences between these different leg types, and the animals that display them. Next to each animal illustration is a human one, showing better how one would stand if they walked in that way.

I see a lot of people messing these things up, and it saddens me to see things like bunnies or bears drawn with digitigrade legs, it just looks so unnatural lol

Also, lastly, Digitigrade is spelled DIGITIGRADE, not digitgrade or digigrade like most people spell it. Common mistake I'm sure, I guess the brain just forgets the extra "i". Look it up on google if you don't believe me :P

Very useful. Love how you did the human leg comparison, that helped a lot. I didn't realize horses actually walked on the "toes"!

Horses walk on their toenails! That's what the hoof is! :)
Glad you found it useful! :)

Woah. I didn't know dinosaurs were digitigrade. In Land Before Time they are depicted as plantigrade. I guess they messed up. Birds are technicly dinosaurs, and I knew they were digitigrade.

Hm! I just researched it. It looks like most predator or 2 legged dinosaurs were digitigrade, while some of the larger dinosaurs such as brachiosaurus, stegosaurus, and triceratops were plantigrade.
